The "factótum" EP was my first attempt at releasing a record -- a product thought as a coherent whole, where several tracks made part of the same universe -- circa 2008. In a total amateur way, I laid down the guitars and bass in a week, later creating rudimentary drum tracks in the long gone "fruit loops", which I would then import to the audacity sessions and hope for the best. Due to the lack of know-how and equipment, it turned out to be an instrumental album, but some of the tunes initially had lyrics. I managed to locate some vocal parts recorded in another moment for "aqui no bar todo mundo é igual", featured here for the first time. This release includes a bonus track from the same sessions, which for some reason didn't make it in time for the 2 or 3 CD-R copies, distributed to incredulous friends and family members. Beside from the historical element -- even if it is only personal -- and from the evident lo-fi-ness of it all, some of these compositions are still worth being listened to (and maybe re-recorded in the future), granting this demos a well deserved reappearance in our label's catalog, 8 years later.
